Does Loom AI sign a BAA?
No BAA available
Loom says it cannot currently sign Business Associate Agreements and advises against sending health information. Loom is not among the products on Atlassian's HIPAA page, so Atlassian's BAA does not extend to it.

By plan
| Plan | BAA | How to get it | Conditions |
|---|---|---|---|
| All Loom plans | No BAA | Not offered | Loom's support article says it cannot sign BAAs and advises against sending HIPAA-regulated health information. Atlassian's BAA covers only the HIPAA-qualified products on its HIPAA page: Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, Rovo and Jira Product Discovery. Loom is not on that list.[1],[2],[3] |
Are the AI features covered?
Vendors often sign a BAA for the core product but leave some AI features out. Here is what Atlassian (Loom) says about each one.
| AI feature | Under the BAA | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Loom AI (AI titles, summaries, chapters and AI workflows) | Excluded | Loom offers no BAA, so no Loom feature, including Loom AI, is under a BAA.[1] |

A signed BAA is necessary but not sufficient for HIPAA compliance, which also depends on configuration, access controls, and your own policies. Verdicts summarize the vendor's own published terms as of the date checked; confirm with the vendor and your counsel before sending protected health information. Not legal advice.
