Free API

The same data behind this site, as JSON: which AI tools sign a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement, on which plans, which AI features are covered, and the vendor pages each answer rests on. No key, no sign-up, and CORS is open so you can call it from a browser.

Terms

  • Free to use. Please credit “AI Vendor BAA Check” with a link to the tool’s page on this site.
  • Responses are cached for a few minutes; please don’t poll more than once an hour per tool.
  • Verdicts summarize vendors’ published terms as of the date shown. They aren’t legal advice, and they can change: use the change log to stay current.
  • Need bulk data, higher volume or a commercial license? Email us.

Endpoints

GET /api/v1/products

Search and list tools. Optional filters: q (name, vendor or alias), category (a category slug), status (YES, CONDITIONAL, NO, UNKNOWN), page and pageSize (up to 100). Each item has the verdict, the plans that include a BAA, whether AI features are excluded, and when it was last checked.

GET /api/v1/products/{slug}

One tool in full: each plan with its BAA status, how to get the BAA and conditions; each AI feature and whether the BAA covers it; numbered sources with the date checked; and its change history. The slug is the last part of the tool’s page URL.

GET /api/v1/products/{slug}/alternatives

Tools in the same category whose vendors offer a BAA.

GET /api/v1/changes

The public change log: verdict, plan and AI-feature changes, newest first. Filter with since (YYYY-MM-DD) and product (a slug). Also available as an RSS feed.

POST /api/v1/audit

Check a list of tools at once (one per line, or an array). Returns each tool’s status, riskiest first, with a recommendation. Limited to 20 requests an hour per IP.
